hyderabad:chief minister n chandrababu naidu snubbed panchayat raj officials at the collectors' conference on friday for presenting an outdated picture of the rural water supply position in the state. a virtual argument ensued between the chief minister and principal secretary panchayat raj r p singh as naidu intewrvened in singh's presentation on rural water supply asking when the data was collected.
singh admitted that the data was compiled in 1997 and it had been in circulation for the last four years. naidu pulled him up stating there was no point in the officials giving outdated data for taking policy decisions. if this is the case, there is no meaning in policy-makers, holding video and tele-conferences to elicit information from the officials, he said even as singh tried to defend his stand.
