HYDERABAD: Seven months after quitting the BRS, Telangana Jagruthi founder
K Kavitha is set to float a new political party on Saturday. According to sources, the party has been named 'Telangana Praja Jagruthi', and it will be officially unveiled at a convention in Muneerabad on the city outskirts.
During the launch, she is likely to unveil the party's agenda and flag, and several key leaders are expected to join immediately after the launch. Though she has been preparing to launch a party, the former MLC has continued to take up various activities under her cultural organisation, Telangana Jagruthi, over the past few months.
She has also conducted several programmes focusing on farmers' issues, unemployed youth, and women's reservation, among others, under the banner of Telangana Jagruthi. Kavitha had earlier announced that her party would contest the 2029 assembly elections and expressed hope that it would emerge as a political force in the state.
