Why Israel Is Relocating Hidden Jews From India-s Northeast Amid War Pressures

In a significant cross-border operation, Israel has begun relocating members of the Bnei Menashe community from India’s northeast under Operation Wings of Dawn. The first group of around 250 people was flown out via Delhi, marking the start of a larger plan to move nearly 5,000 individuals to Israel. The community, which traces its roots to a biblical lost tribe, has lived in Manipur and Mizoram for generations. While the move is driven by religious aspirations and the desire to reconnect with ancestral heritage, it also aligns with Israel’s strategic and economic needs. For many families, this journey represents hope, identity, and the promise of a new beginning.
