HYDERABAD: Housing minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday announced that the Congress govt has sanctioned Indiramma housing units for 205 eligible families in Vasalamarri, a village adopted by former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
"While KCR never looked back at his adopted village or fulfilled his promise of constructing 2-BHK houses, the Congress gov, under the direction of CM A Revanth Reddy, has sanctioned 205 housing units. I will personally hand over the sanction letters to beneficiaries during a programme on Thursday," Srinivas Reddy said.
The minister accused KCR of using Vasalamarri village residents to serve his personal interests, particularly to acquire land and expand the road leading to his Erravalli farmhouse.
"On Nov 1, 2020, KCR adopted Vasalamarri. He returned on June 22, 2021, held a gram sabha, and even shared a meal with villagers. He promised to turn it into a 'bangaru gramam (golden village)' and assured double-bedroom homes for all. But after that visit, he never returned," he alleged.
