HYDERABAD: Alleging that his in-laws kidnapped his wife, a 21-year-old newly married businessman lodged a complaint with OU police on Sunday.
The complainant , B Sai Kiran, from Manikeswar Nagar was in love with 19-year-old Bhargavi from Medipally. They studied intermediate together at a private college in Tarnaka a few years ago and are from different castes.
On December 19, Sai Kiran married Bhargavi at Yadagirigutta without informing her parents.
After the marriage, family members of Bhargavi lodged a missing complaint at Medipally police station. Subsequently, the couple appeared before Medipally police and Bhargavi gave a statement saying that she wilfully married Sai Kiran.
The couple returned to Sai Kiran’s home at Manikeswara Nagar. At 12.45pm on Sunday when the couple along with Sai Kiran’s mother Gayatri and his two friends, were at his house, Bhargavi’s parents, Santosh Reddy and Narmada along with their son Siddhartha and others trespassed into their house. “After beating up Sai Kiran and his friends Bhargavi’s family members forcibly took her away in their car. The accused also pushed away Sai Kiran’s mother Gayatri,” OU SI A Narsing Rao said. Based on the complaint, OU police registered a case under section 363, 448, 323, 506 r/w 34 IPC.
Later at night police located Bhargavi at her parent’s house in Medipally. They reportedly took her family members into custody and after recording Bhargavi’s statement, appropriate legal action would be initiated.
