HYDERABAD: In run-up to assembly polls in five states later this year, BJP is kicking off a mega outreach programme with special focus on booth-rung training and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to boost cadre morale by interacting with 2,500 select partymen from poll-bound states in Bhopal later this month, top sources told TOI.

Also, a 170-member senior BJP team from Chhattisgarh will touch down in Telangana soon to execute a booth-positioning drill for cadres and deliberate on party's ability to break fresh electoral ground in the state.
1x1 polls

With assembly elections scheduled in Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Mizoram between November and December this year, a select team of full-timers and committed workers will participate in a direct interaction with the PM - a first of its kind programme steered by Modi in run-up to assembly polls. "The PM will suggest ways to amplify the party campaign, 'Apna Booth Majboot', and the interaction session will be telecast in all states to enable party workers to imbibe BJP's electoral fine print," said a party office-bearer.
The exercise will be followed by an exchange of observer teams in these five poll-bound states. "For each parliamentary seat, 10 candidates will be shortlisted after a careful deliberation on party's parameters. For 17 seats in Telangana, 170 observers from Chhattisgarh will be sent and they will spend at least four days here talking to booth-level activists, understanding the ground situation and assessing preparedness of workers," said a top source.

These observers will be appointed through an elaborate selection mechanism before deputation in these five states. "A detailed questionnaire will be prepared for selecting senior leaders, who seek to be observers," said sources.
BJP leaders are hoping that PM Modi and BJP national president JP Nadda's visit to Nagarkurnool will boost the morale of cadres. "Despite recent developments in the party, we are confident of hitting the ground running in no time," a top leader said.
