He pulled her by her hair and insisted she obey him.
When Fatima refused again, the accused whipped out a knife and inflicted an injury on her left hand. Fatima ran towards the school and raised an alarm, while Rafeeq fled the scene.
The school officials rushed a bleeding Fatima to a nearby hospital, where doctors stitched her wounds. She was discharged from the hospital later in the evening.
The incident has shocked the girl's family. She is the lone child of Mohammad Nisar Ahmed, a businessman, residing at Virasat Nagar, Tolichowki.
Fatima's uncle, Mohammad Masood Khan told The Times of India that Rafeeq had been harassing his niece for the last few days. "She told me that the stalker was after her to give the letter to her teacher. Though we have alerted the school principal and the teacher, they did not take note of the seriousness of the issue," Khan said.
The police have registered a case against Rafeeq and hunt is on to nab him."We're trying to trace him out," Golconda police sub-inspector Mohammad Razaq Khan said.
