Tech can bring health equity: Geoff Martha

Hyderabad: Stressing on the importance of technology, Geoff Martha, CEO & chairman of global medtech giant Medtronic said there is a need to harness the wealth of technology that we have at our fingertips to address the key challenges of today – health equity and rising cost of healthcare.
He pointed out that the pandemic has sped up digital transformation by a shocking seven years and this is being driven by advancements in computation power and emerging technologies such as AI and robotics.
Martha said governments needs to make investments in health, training & education and creating incentives for medtech innovation. Last year, Medtronic opened its largest R&D centre outside the US in Hyderabad. tnn
