Worker hurt in boiler blast at Telangana's Medchal unit

HYDERABAD: A worker at a private factory in Medchal suffered injuries after the lid of a boiler came off due to high pressure on Tuesday afternoon. "The company, Alkaloids Bioactives, manufactures herbal-based products. Srinivasa Reddy, 53, who operates the boiler, suffered fractures on both his legs when the boiler lid hit him," Medchal inspector A Satyanarayana said. No one else was injured, the police said. Co-workers rushed him to a private hospital, and he is undergoing treatment. "The victim is out of danger. On his daughter's complaint, we registered a case against the management of the company ," the inspector said.
