NEW DELHI: A hand grenade was discovered at the gate of GP Women's College in Imphal on Monday morning, police reported. The college is situated less than 100 meters from the Raj Bhavan.The sighting of the grenade caused panic among people in the area. Authorities quickly responded by cordoning off the location and working to remove the grenade.An officer stated, "Police, after being informed about the grenade, cordoned off the area and were working to remove it."The college's proximity to significant landmarks, including the chief minister's official residence and Manipur Police headquarters, has raised security concerns. This incident occurs as several educational institutions in the Imphal Valley are dealing with extortion threats.
