Imphal: Unidentified miscreants fired at the palace rath (Lord Jagannath’s chariot), popularly known as Konung Kang of the famous Shree Shree Govindajee Temple in Imphal East district early on Friday. However, no one was injured in the attack.Konung Kang is currently being assembled for the Rath Yatra on Monday even as appeals are being made on the social media for low-key celebrations in view of the ongoing ethnic conflict. Miscreants coming in a car from the temple’s western side fired some bullets at the rath around 12.30 am before moving towards the palace gate, a source said.
