10 kids forced into begging rescued
INDORE: Ten children who had been forced into begging were rescued by district women and child development department on Saturday and sent to Rajkiya Bal Sanrakshan ashram for rehabilitation.
As a part of the child begging rescue campaign initiated by Collector P Narahari, a team comprising of representatives of childline, police and Shaurya Dal rescued ten children, who were begging in the area around Pandharinath.

"Our team provided clothes to the rescued children and took them to the ashram, where they enjoyed a good meal after a longtime," said Sanjay Bharadwaj, district Women and child development officer.
The campaign was initiated around one-and-a-half years ago and the district administration has rescued more than 200 children from begging so far. They carry out a drive on every Wednesday and Saturday.
"As a part of the campaign, we also take action against factories that have employed children as labourers. We also make do counseling for parents of the rescued children and take efforts for their admission of some of the special schools," said Collector Narahari while talking to TOI on the occasion .
