Couple dies by suicide inside car

Indore: A middle-aged couple allegedly died by suicide inside their car near Dev Dungri Mataji temple in Mandsaur on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Dushyant Soni, a private bank collection executive and his wife Ushmita Soni, a govt college guest lecturer.

The couple left their home on Friday evening under the pretext of visiting a local temple. When they did not return, relatives initiated a search and later located them at a private hospital in critical condition. Ushmita passed away early Saturday morning, while Dushyant died during treatment a few hours later.

Before Dushyant’s death, police and administrative officials recorded his statement, which led to the recovery of a suicide note from the vehicle. The note stated that they were taking the step voluntarily due to personal problems and requested that their family should not be harassed.

YD Nagar police station in-charge Shivanshu Malviya said that a case was registered and the investigation was on.
