Couple jumps from window with kid to escape fire in house in Ratlam

Indore: A couple jumped out of a window with their three-year-old child to escape a massive fire that broke out in their house in Manak Chowk area of Ratlam around 3 am on Tuesday.

The family was asleep when the blaze erupted and rapidly spread through the house, filling the rooms with thick smoke and cutting off the main exit. Seeing no way to get out, the couple grabbed their child and jumped from a window. All three survived without any serious injuries.

The fire destroyed almost everything--- clothes, important documents, ration supplies and other household belongings, inside the house.

Firefighters worked for several hours to bring the blaze under control. Preliminary investigation suggested that the fire may have been triggered by a short circuit in the electrical wiring.
