Indore: Indoreans woke up to dense fog and cold winds on first day of the New Year on Sunday.
Those traversing early morning faced a lot of difficulty due to dense fog. Visibility at Indore was 1500 metre. Temperature in Indore and most areas in the state is expected to dip in the next few days A warning of dense fog has been issued for many places in the state.
Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal circle said, there is no system or moisture incursion over the state.
The temperature will dip in the state and many places will also witness fog. There was no possibility of respite from the cold for the coming days.
The maximum temperature recorded in the was 23 degrees Celsius with a drop of 1.2 degrees in a span of 24 hours. It was two degrees below normal maximum temperature. The minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 11.4 degrees Celsius with a drop of a miniscule 0.5 degrees in a span of 24 hours.
The relative humidity per cent in morning was 73 and it came down to 52 per cent in the evening.
Lowest temperature in the state was recorded at 5.4 degrees Celsius in Datia.
Shallow fog with isolated moderate to dense fog was observed in many parts across the state, including
Sagar, Bhind, Gwalior, Datia, Shivpuri, Ashok Nagar, Rewa, Satna, Vidisha, Raisen and Bhopal districts.
In the forecast for the state meteorological officials issued a warning of moderate to dense fog for places including Bhind, Morena, Sheopurkalan, Shivpuri, Gwalior and Datia districts.
A warning of light fog was issued for Sagar division and for Satna, Rewa, Raisen and Bhopal districts.
