The building that has been sanctioned is under construction for last three years. Bharat had taken admission here four and a half years ago and he too is awaiting eagerly for building to be completed.
“The villagers have already approached public representatives and officials and even submitted their grievances thrice during Jansunvai but in vain. We only get assurances but villagers have now demanded that the new building be completed soon,” Gyan Singh said .
Another villager Silu said that the hut (where school runs) was not in a good state. “Rainwater, cold winds … all seep in, making things difficult for children studying inside. They also don’t have drinking water and toilet facilities, he said.

One of the teachers at the school, Santosh Pichole, said that there were 48 students in the school (from Class I to V) and they often faced difficulties in this decayed hut. He said that for last one year, the construction of new school building had almost stopped.
“Rs14 lakh had been sanctioned for the new building three years ago but the construction work is going on at snail’s pace. Due to this, we haven’t been able to shift the school till now. Officials will visit the area soon to check the situation,” Barwani block resource coordinator, Rajaram Bhalse said.

On Tuesday, former president of Sendhwa municipality, Rajendra Motiyani submitted a memorandum to SDM Sendhwa in name of CM demanding a high-level inquiry into 125 incomplete school buildings in the constituency.
Motiyani submitted a list of 125 schools sanctioned between 2010 and 2014 and alleged that in spite of drawing whole amount, the school buildings have not been completed and students were suffering. He alleged that there were many schools where just 20 to 40% work had been completed and their physical verification was needed.
District project coordinator (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan), Barwani, Sanjay Tomar told TOI that there were around 125 incomplete schools (94 in Sendhwa block) in the district and revenue recovery action was being carried out against the responsible persons by Barwani zila panchayat CEO.
