Indore: BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, who has been given ticket from Indore-I assembly seat, on Thursday started a 'Jan Sampark' (mass contact drive) in the constituency along with laying stones for some development works along with local corporators and party leaders.
During the day, Vijayvargiya also took a motorcycle ride to visit different areas and meet people to seek their support in upcoming assembly polls.
He promised the voters that he will help to make it ‘number 1’ in development. During the stone laying ceremony of a road, he urged the contractor to complete the construction work in the next one-and-a-half month as he wanted to inaugurate it before the polls.
“Carrying out development works is our habit. In the last five years, development of Indore-I assembly constituency has come to standstill, but we have made a master plan to make it number-1 constituency in terms of development” he told media persons. On the Congress leaders labelling him as a ‘guest’ in the assembly constituency, he said that he was born in Indore and remained connected with the masses during his tenure as city mayor, MLA, minister or other national assignments.
From Indore-I constituency, Congress is likely to field Sanjay Shukla, who had won last assembly polls from the same seat.
