Ujjain: The Mahakaleshwar temple management committee in Ujjain worked out contingency plans amid commercial LPG cylinder shortages across the country, although officials said there was no supply disruption at the temple as yet, thus the Bhog Prasadam will continue uninterrupted.
Temple committee PRO Ashish Phalwadiya told TOI that both cooking facilities at the temple, the annakshetram, which ran on piped natural gas (PNG), and the laddu unit, which used commercial LPG cylinders, operated normally. "We did not experience any supply-chain break, either in the PNG or the commercial LPG cylinders, but contingencies are being worked out," he said.

Around 40 quintals of laddu prasadam is prepared every day at the laddu unit, which ran entirely on commercial LPG.
The committee conducted an audit to estimate its daily requirements. "We carried out an audit and are estimating the number of LPG cylinders and the quantity of PNG required every day," Phalwadiya said. The temple is also in touch with three gas suppliers. "They assured us that they have adequate buffer stock and the supply will remain uninterrupted," he added.
