Indore: Parents seeking admission for their children under the Right to Education (RTE) 2023 will have the final opportunity on Thursday to get their wards admitted in schools allotted to them. A total of 2145 students have been allotted schools for admission under RTE in the second round of online lottery results, which was released recently. In Indore, 1600 private schools have been listed for RTE admission with nearly 12000 seats.
As many as 7050 applications were received for RTE admissions this year.
“Parents of 2145 students have been informed through text messages and they have been asked to get the verification done for their children in the allotted schools latest by April 27. There will be no third round of lottery. If the parents fail to get the verification done by the given date, their admission will stand cancelled.” said Indore district project coordinator Akshay Singh Rathore.
“It has been a trend in all the big cities of Madhya Pradesh that the parents eye on admission in the top schools of the city,” he added.
The first round of online lottery was held earlier this month wherein all the prominent schools witnessed rush from parents for admission of their wards. Many parents who missed their chance in the first round of lottery are ready to wait for another year for admission of theri kids in a renowned school instead of settling for second option.
“Parents have become aware of their rights and they want their kids to study in the best schools. The RTE seats were filled in our school during the first round of lottery. So, parents in second round couldn’t opt for our school,” said Delhi Public School, Rau., principal Asha Nair.
