Two labourers were killed and two others feared dead when they were trapped under a rubble as the wall of a well they were digging collapsed on Tuesday night in Shajapur district.

INDORE: Two labourers were killed and two others feared dead when they were trapped under a rubble as the wall of a well they were digging collapsed on Tuesday night in Shajapur district.
A rescue operation was launched overnight and bodies of two women were dug out of the rubble on Wednesday morning. Officials claim that two others, including a woman, were still trapped.
The incident took place in Bijanakheda village when the labouers were winding up their day’s work and attempting to climb out of the 60-ft-deep well, Mohan Badodia police said.

The wall of the well, lined by bricks most of the way down, caved in trapping the labourers, they said adding they were yet to be dug out.
Police said the labourers were identified as Kumkum Bai, 35, Bhuri Bai, 25, Leela Bai, 30 and Ramlal, 20.
Villagers raised an alarm and started rescue operations, while informing the police. Senior officials rushed to the spot and deployed six earthmoving machines to dig out the labourers.
