Arunachal min calls for efforts to combat drug menace in state

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh home minister Mama Natung on Wednesday called for collective efforts to combat drug menace in the state.
Addressing a programme to create awareness about the ill effects of drugs, Natung spoke about its devastating impact on individuals, families and communities. Stressing the need to fight the menace, he highlighted the key role of awareness drives in educating the public, especially the youth, about the dangers of drug addiction.
The programme, based on the theme ‘Stay Strong, Live Long, Say No to Drugs’, was organised by the Papum Pare unit of Arunachal Pradesh Police at Doimukh near here. Natung praised the police department for organising the event and pledged to support their efforts to fight drug abuse.
Sharing his vision for a drug-free Arunachal, he highlighted various initiatives and strategies that the govt plans to implement including stricter law enforcement, better rehabilitation facilities, and continuous awareness campaigns.
Natung also commended the rehabilitation centres for their relentless work in helping individuals recover.
He stressed the importance of community involvement in these efforts and called upon all stakeholders, including the police, administration, and the public, to unite in this battle against drugs.
