Ajmer: Constant monitoring of social media platforms by the cyber cell of police and quick follow-up action helped prevent the potential suicide of an 18-year-old man in Ajmer on Thursday.
A police team reached the house of Sahil in Adarsh Nagar area soon after spotting a video he had uploaded on a social media platform, in which he said he was planning to end his life. Police traced the mobile phone number from which the video was uploaded and counselled Sahil and his family.
"We took action after this video came to our notice. In the video, a cloth was seen hanging from a ceiling fan. The next in the video said: ‘Byy, jis kisi ko bhi mene hurt kiya sorry, aaj k baad nahi dikhunga kisi ko bhi, ja rha hu me, ho sk to maf ker dena papa mummy" (Bye. Sorry to everyone I might have hurt. I will not be seen any more from today onwards. I am leaving. Forgive me if you can, my parents)'," said Alwar Gate Police Station SHO Shyam Singh.
The police team visiting Sahil's house found him in his room. His parents were also at home at the time. The police team learnt that Sahil had gone into depression after failing in a love affair and had decided to commit suicide. He also had some issues with his parents, said police officials. They counselled him and his parents. They also made the youth take a vow not to think of such steps again.
