JAISALMER: A 14-year-old dalit minor was badly beaten up with iron rods at Bhimda village in Baytu police station area of Barmer district.
A video clip of the incident, which reportedly took place on Thursday, became viral on social media on Friday, prompting police to launch a probe and arrest the accused.
Barmer SP Deepak Bhargav said Soni was arrested and that the Baytu DSP is probing the matter.

The minor boy was working at one Nemichand Soni’s residence. He had on Thursday gone to work there, where Soni’s wife and sister Durga allegedly beat him up. The boy’s father lodged a complaint at Baytu PS alleging that Soni, his wife and Durga beat him up, branded him with iron rods, hung him from a ceiling fan and tried to kill him.
Soni allegedly brought the victim tied on his motorcycle in a serious condition and threw him outside his house, threatening with dire consequences. TNN
