Jaisalmer: Many new records were made on Sunday at the ongoing Tilwara’s Mallinath cattle fair in Barmer district. Distribution of ‘Meri policy mere haath’ under PM Fasal Bima Yojana was started at the fair. Four senior ministers from the Centre attended the programme. Union minister of state of agriculture
Kailash Choudhary, Union agriculture and farmer welfare minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Jal Shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Union animal husbandry minister Sanjeev Baliyan were here along with local public representatives, agriculture ministry officers and mela committee officials.
The PM Fasal Bima Yojana policy was distributed among farmers, while cattle rearers were awarded for their contribution.
Tomar, in his address to the public, said that the Modi government is committed towards farmers’ and cattle rearers’ welfare and is working to increase their income through various schemes. He said that farmers are being given information by scientists through various exhibitions and programmes so that they can produce good quality crop. The Modi government wants to make the farmers self-dependent. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that the policy will benefit farmers in the long run. Through the Yojana, farmers are being provided economic security and efforts are being made to ensure their income. tnn
