Five-year-old sexually assaulted by minor in Bikaner

JAIPUR: A five-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a teenager in Pugal area of Bikaner on Sunday night. The accused, a 15-year-old distant relative of the victim, was detained on Tuesday.
The girl, who was admitted to a hospital, has been discharged.
According to the police, the incident occurred in Ramai Fanta village on May 19. "The girl was sleeping in her house along with her brothers.Her mother had gone to the house of some relative in the neighbourhood, and her father was also out of the village," said a police officer.
The accused teenager, a relative of the child, came to the house and started assaulting her. He took the girl to a nearby room and raped her after gagging her.
"Meanwhile her mother returned and caught him in the act. The girl was crying severely and bleeding. The mother tried to catch him, but he ran away pushing her back. She rushed the girl to a hospital at Pugal with the help of neighbours. Looking no improvement in her condition, the doctors referred her to PBM hospital at Bikaner.
SP Rakesh Saxena said that the accused, Asu Ram, was first rounded up by Pugal police after registering a case under Section 376 of IPC and Section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012. The SP said that the girl was discharged from hospital after improvement in her condition.
