JAIPUR: A single bench of Rajasthan HC has asked the state government to re-appoint a home guard who was removed from the services of driver home guard. The bench asked the state government to consider the case if he approaches them as per Rule 8 (ii) of Rajasthan Home Guards (Amendment) Rules, 2009.
Bench comprising Justice PS Bhati, while disposing the petition filed by Durga Lal Jangir, asked the DG, police (civil defence and home guards), the commandant, civil defence and home guards and government to re-appoint Jangir.

As per the petition, Jangir had submitted an application for the post of home guard volunteer in 2011. He joined the service in January 2012 after he became eligible for appointment. Till September 2013, he served as driver for 18 consecutive months. After September 2013, the applicant was removed from service by oral order. Thus, he challenged the order in the Rajasthan High Court. While the petition was pending, the department finally dismissed the applicant from the service in April 2017.
