JAIPUR: Mild to moderate showers continued across the state for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday when many places in the state got monsoon showers. In many districts, the reservoirs and the rivers were brimming with water and the weather was mainly pleasant at many parts of the state except western Rajasthan. Nimbahera (Chittorgarh) received a rainfall of 100 mm which was highest in the state.
Attributing the revival of the monsoon activity since Saturday to the higher humidity levels, the Jaipur Met office has forecasted heavy rainfall in the next 36 hours.
Jaipurites woke up to a comparatively warmer morning as a maximum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, almost 1 degree above the normal was recorded. It was followed by a sultry afternoon as a maximum temperature of 34.3 accompanied with humidity level of 99%. In the evening mild showers were witnessed at many places in the city.
The districts, including Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, Udaipur, Kota, Jhalwar, Bundi and Baran got a good rainfall on Tuesday. Majority of the rain-fed rivers in these districts were flowing to the capacity.
Nimbahera (Chittorgarh) was followed by Atru (Baran) where a rain of 70 mm was recorded, Aklera (Jhalawar) 60 mm, Shahbad (Baran), Merta City (Nagaur) 50 mm, Bonli (Sawai Madhopur) 40 mm, Khanpur (Jhalwar) 30 mm. Likewise, rain varying from 30 mm to 10 mm was received at many places in the southern and northern parts of the state.
