Raj gets 10% more LPG allocation, CM assures no shortage
Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Monday said there is no shortage of LPG, fuel or fertilisers in Rajasthan, while announcing a 10% increase in commercial LPG allocation and directing strict action against hoarding and black marketing.
Chairing a high-level review meeting, Sharma said, "We must ensure that this is fully utilised and does not get misused," referring to the enhanced commercial LPG quota. He added that a 20% additional allocation of 5kg cylinders has been approved for hotels, restaurants, dhabas and small businesses.
Reassuring citizens, Sharma said petrol, diesel, LPG and fertilisers are available in adequate quantities and urged people not to panic. "There is no shortage in the state, and people should not be misled by rumours," he said.
He emphasised smooth and timely supply, directing officials to avoid delays in LPG delivery. "There should be no unnecessary delay in LPG cylinder delivery to consumers. Even for weddings and large gatherings, proper arrangements must be ensured," Sharma said.
Highlighting monitoring measures, he said round-the-clock helplines — 181, 112 and 14435 — have been activated for LPG-related complaints. "These must be monitored closely and addressed in a time-bound manner," he said, asking the chief secretary to oversee grievance redressal.
Sharma also called for long-term steps, stressing expansion of the city gas distribution network. "We need to reduce dependence on LPG. Pipeline approvals should be expedited," he said, while warning of "zero tolerance" against irregularities.
