BIKANER: There was ruckus in the Child Hospital of PBM Hospital in Bikaner on Saturday when two newly born twins died due to alleged negligence of doctors.
According to Arun Bhardwaj of PBM police station, both these children were kept in the nursery of child hospital. On Saturday morning, their started deteriorating.
Family members of the children reported the matter to the doctors and requested them to attend the children.
But the doctors allegedly didn't them, who ultimately died. Mother of the twins Nirma Devi started crying and other family members started shouting and created ruckus. On getting information, police team from the PBM police station rushed the nursery and normalised the situation.
After having a dialogue with the doctors, the bodies of both the children were handed over to the family who then left for their village.
Superintendent of PBM Hospital Dr V B Singh and HoD Child Hospital Dr Renu Aggrawal told TOI that Nirma Devi, wife of Anil Kumar of village Nokha, delivered twins in Nokha from where she was referred to PBM Hospital at Bikaner on May 11. Both twins, one boy and a girl, were underweight. Besides, due to premature delivery their health was not upto the mark. She denied any negligence on part of the doctors, adding that some dispute occurred at the time of entering time of death in the death certificate.

Family persons who were attending the children reported the matter to the doctors? on duty and requested them to attend the children. But the doctors allegedly didn?t attend the children, who ultimately died. Mother Nirma Devi started making hue and cry and other family members started shouting and created ruckus. Receiving information, police team from the PBM Police post rushed to the nursery and turned the situation normal. After having dialogues with doctors? bodies of both the children handed over to the family who in turn left for their village.

Singh and HoD Child Hospital Dr. Renu Aggrawal told TOI that Nirma Devi wife of Anil Kumar of village Nokha delivered twin in Nokha from where she was referred to PBM Hospital at Bikaner on 11th May. Twins were comprising of one male and one female and both were of lesser weight ranging between 1-1.25 Kg. Besides this, it was a premature delivery due to which their health was not upto the mark. She denied any negligence on the part of doctors, and said that some dispute occurred due to entry of time of death in the death certificate.
