Tanker hits scooter near Sareri, two women killed
Bhilwara: Two young women were killed on the spot and a third was seriously injured after a tanker hit their scooter Monday near Sareri village under the Gulabpura police station area on the Bhilwara–Jaipur National Highway, police said.ASI Mahavir Prasad said the three women, residents of Bhilwara, were travelling on a scooter to offer darshan at the Trinetra Mahadev temple near Kanwaliyas village when the accident occurred at the Sareri intersection. The impact of the collision threw them onto the road, killing two instantly.

The deceased were identified as Rekha (28), daughter of Ganpat Lal Balai, and Sita (36), wife of Ramavatar Dhobi. The injured woman, Chanchal (25), daughter of Sohanlal Nayak, sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital. Police said Sita is survived by a son and a daughter. On receiving information, police reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the mortuary of Rayla Community Hospital. After post-mortem examinations, the bodies were handed over to the family members. Initially, the vehicle involved could not be identified. Later, CCTV footage from Lambiya Kala and Bandanwara toll plazas revealed that a tanker had hit the scooter.
A case has been registered against the tanker driver and investigation is underway. Meanwhile, local residents expressed anger over frequent accidents on the highway. They said thousands of devotees walk along the stretch every Monday to visit the Trinetra Mahadev temple and demanded increased police surveillance and stricter traffic control to ensure pilgrims' safety.
