Two youths drown in Barmer water tank

Jaisalmer: A youth fell into a water tank while making cattle drink water at Bhaton ki Dhani of Naya Somesara gram panchayat in Baytoo police station area in Barmer district on Thursday. Though his cousin also jumped into the tank to save him, both drowned. Sindhari police reached the spot and took out the bodies with the help of villagers.
Baytu SHO Om Prakash Choudhary said Tejaram, a resident of Bhaton ki Dhani, filed a report that his son Suresh Kumar (22) was making the cattle drink water from the tank near his house when he slipped into it.Jogaram (30), who was working in the field, jumped in the water tank to save Suresh. Both did not know how to swim and drowned.
He said that villagers came to the spot and took out the bodies and sent them to CHC in Baytu, where they were declared dead. The bodies were handed over to the family members after the postmortem. TNN
