Udaipur dairy chairperson held for taking bribe

JAIPUR: The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested chairperson of the Udaipur Saras Dairy Geeta Patel for accepting bribe of Rs 10,000.
Patel was caught red handed taking bribe from a man to give him nod to set up a dairy booth.
ADG, ACB Ajit Singh said one Sandeep Lakshyakar approached the agency and lodged a complaint against Patel for demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 from him.
"The complaint was verified, and a trap was laid," A team was formed to catch Patel taking the bribe," said the officer.
Patel allegedly asked Sandeep to come to her house to give the money. "She was caught red-handed. We have booked her under sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation is on," said the officer. Sources said the officers searched her residence and other places too.
