Jammu and Kashmir: BSF foils narco-smuggling bid along international border in Akhnoor, seizes 10 kg of heroin

JAMMU: Alert troops of the Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday claimed to have foiled a major narcotics smuggling bid along the international border (IB) with seizure of huge quantity of contraband in Akhnoor of Jammu district.
“The BSF Jammu was getting information about suspected activities of Narcotics smugglers of the area, accordingly the BSF was keeping a strict vigil and surveillance of area to foil the smuggling bid,” said BSF Spokesperson DIG BSF SPS Sandhu here today.
Mr Sandhu added that on specific input, a BSF party today at about 1300 hrs, during search operation near Zero Line found a suspected black colour rucksack bag hidden inside sarkanda bushes.”
PRO-BSF Mr Sandhu said, “The aforesaid bag was opened with due precautions and 10 Pkts (weight 10 Kg approx) of suspected Heroin were found in this bag.”
“BSF Jammu has achieved this major success today due to its relentless efforts of robust Border Domination.”
Meanwhile, NS Jamwal IG BSF Jammu told the media persons that regular inputs of narcotics smuggling were being received and BSF troops have enhanced the surveillance of the area under its jurisdiction round the clock and thus successfully seized the contraband.
“DG BSF lauded the efforts of troops deployed on border on this achievement,” BSF spokesperson further added.
