Five juveniles from the same village as the survivor were detained for raping a 13-year-old schoolgirl. The police invoked Pocso Act sections and forwarded them to a remand home.

JAMSHEDPUR: The West Singhbhum police on Thursday detained and sent five juveniles, aged between 14 and 16 years, to a remand home for raping a 13-year-old schoolgirl on March 12.
SP Ashutosh Shekhar said the arrested juveniles are natives of the same village as that of the rape survivor.
The survivor's parents filed an FIR on Wednesday alleging that their daughter was raped by five village boys on March 12 when she had gone to a pond to take a bath.

The girl was admitted to the govt hospital in Chaibasa for medical examination.
"A case has been lodged against the juveniles for raping and sections of the Pocso (Prevention of Children from Sexual Offence) Act have been invoked against them. The juveniles were forwarded to a remand home on Thursday," SP Shekhar added.
