Women kills alcoholic husband after domestic tiff in Jaisalmer village

JAISALMER: In Luna Khurd village under the Sankra police station area of Jaisalmer, a woman allegedly killed her husband by hitting him with an iron rod following prolonged domestic disputes, police said.

According to police, the accused wife has been detained and is being questioned. The incident has created panic and sensation in the area.

Superintendent of Police Abhishek Shivhare said that information was received early in the morning about the murder of Hanumanaram (35), son of Saluram Meghwal, a resident of Luna Khurd village. Acting on the information, SHO Ransingh Sodha along with the police team reached the spot, took custody of the body, and began an investigation.

Preliminary inquiry revealed that the couple had been facing frequent domestic disputes for some time, and the deceased allegedly used to assault his wife after consuming alcohol. On the night of the incident, Hanumanaram was sleeping in the verandah of his house when his wife Amka attacked him with an iron rod, striking his head and causing his death on the spot.

Senior police officials, including Deputy SP Bhawani Singh, also reached the scene, and an FSL team was called for forensic examination.

SP Shivhare personally inspected the site considering the seriousness of the case.

The deceased had been married for around 12 years and is survived by four children. Police said that prima facie, the murder appears to have been the result of ongoing domestic violence.
