50-year-old man arrested for raping 5-year-old girl

Kanpur: A 50-year-old man was arrested for raping a five-year-old girl in Kanpur. On hearing the girl's screams, locals gathered at the site prompting the accused to flee the scene. Police registered a case based on a complaint filed by the girl's mother and arrested the accused.The complainant lives on footpath near railway station and said that the accused, a labourer, used to take her daughter with him often in the name of giving her treats. On Tuesday night, he took the girl promising to give her chocolate. He took her to a grain storage near Murray Company Bridge and raped her, she stated. ACP Cantt Akanksha Pandey said that the accused was arrested from Cantt on Wednesday and sent to jail.
