Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the death of a nurse who allegedly ended her life in a nursing home of Unnao district. He also announced to provide financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to family of the deceased.
On Monday, district magistrate Ravindra Kumar, SP Dinesh Tripathi and ADM Narendra Singh reached the girl’s village and gave a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to the victim’s mother.
Bangarmau SDM Ankit Shukla, Safipur SDM Ram Sakal Maurya, Safipur CO Anjani Rai and Asivan SO Anurag Singh were also present on the occasion. According to the sources, she was the only earning member of the family and had started working in New Jeevan Hospital after passing class XII. Her father had died due to illness a few years ago. She was fourth among the eight sisters and her three elder sisters are married.
According to the police, the girl had hanged herself to death after her lover refused to marry her. Her alleged lover Sandeep, a resident of Mustafabad area of Bangarmau, said that his marriage was fixed a week ago in Korara area of Lucknow. The girl was upset after found this and was pressurizing him for marriage.
However, the girl’s mother, in her complaint, had accused Noor Alam, Chand Alam and Anil Kumar along with one unidentified person of sexually assaulting and murdering her daughter. The police have initiated an investigation after sending the body for postmortem.
Additional superintendent of police Unnao Shashishekhar had stated that the autopsy report did not confirm sexual assault and, cause of death has been found asphyxia from ante mortem ligature hanging. As per the findings, the girl had committed suicide after break-up with her alleged lover.
The ASP said that as per the investigations, the alleged lover of the girl seems to be the accused. “The call details of the girl’s phone have revealed an affair with her alleged lover Sandeep, son of Rajendra, a resident of Mustafabad.”
On this basis, Sandeep was taken into custody and interrogated. He told the police that the girl was hurt as he was not taking her calls following which she ended her life on Saturday morning.
Records of conversations have been found in the call details of both of them. “Questioning of Sandeep is underway and the action will be taken on the basis of investigation,” the ASP added.
To recall on Saturday morning, the body of the girl, who came to work as a nurse in the New Navjeevan Nursing Home in Dullapurwa area, which started operating only a few days ago, was found hanging with the help of a rope from a pillar on the terrace at the nursing home.After registering an FIR, the police had sealed the hospital and sent the body for post-mortem. The DM assured the family that fair probe will be conducted and stringent action will be taken against the guilty in the entire matter.
