Kanpur: A 27-year-old man in Kannauj climbed a 100-ft mobile tower, demanding his family arrange his marriage to his girlfriend. He lost his balance and fell to his death.The incident took place in Purabhoj village under the Gursahaiganj police station area, where the man sat atop a 100-ft mobile tower for 2 hours, shouting his love's name and threatening to jump if his marriage demand wasn't met.

Villagers and family members rushed to the scene as police tried to talk him down, but he refused to budge. Moments later, he lost his balance and plummeted to the ground. He was rushed to the hospital, but died on the way.According to reports, Sumit Rajput, 27, from Purabhoj village, had returned from a factory job in Rajasthan just 15 days ago. He was in love with a distant relative, but her family refused his marriage proposal. To make matters worse, she got married to someone else just three days ago.Kotwali police station in-charge Ajay Kumar said, "Dial 112 team rushed to the scene. Sumit lost his balance and fell. He was taken to Gursahayganj CHC, but was declared dead. His body was sent for post-mortem, and legal proceedings followed."
