Kanpur: Two criminals involved in killing of eight cops neutralised

The inspector general Kanpur on Friday said that two criminals allegedly involved in the killing of eight police personnel have been neutralised.

KANPUR: Two criminals, involved in killing eight policemen, were neutralised in an ambush in a jungle, 4km away from the encounter site in the early hours of Friday. The police have identified the criminals as Atul Dubey and Prem Prakash Pandey.
Two police personnel were also injured in the encounter. Two of the weapons looted from the slain cops have also been recovered from Atul and Prem.
"During a combing operation following the killing of eight policemen, two criminals Atul Dubey and Prem Prakash Pandey, who were hiding in near jungles, have been neutralised while two policemen were injured," Mohit Agarwal, Kanpur IG said.

"A search operation is currently under way to nab other accused, including Vikas and his other aides. The injured cops were admitted to hospital. We had sought help from villagers, who identified the two deceased criminals," he added.
