3-year-old girl injured in stray dog attack

Kottayam: A three-year-old girl, who was playing with toys inside her house at Paivalli in Omalloor, Pathanamthitta, suffered serious injuries after a stray dog bit her on Monday morning. The victim is Sukanya, daughter of Prathibha.The dog, suspected to be rabid, bit the girl on her eye and face. The dog entered the house through the kitchen door and attacked the child. The mother, alerted by the commotion, rushed in and rescued the girl. She was admitted to Kottayam Govt Medical College Hospital. The same dog reportedly attacked a priest and an elderly person in the area earlier in the day.
