Engineering student found hanging

IDUKKI: A second-year engineering student of the mechanical stream of Al Azhar College in Thodupuzha here was found hanging inside his room in a private hostel on Wednesday.
The deceased is A R Arun Raj (19), of Charuvila Puthanveedu at Maloor in Pathanapuram. The students in the hostel informed the police after seeing Arun’s door closed since Monday night and a foul smell emanating from there.
As per initial probe, there was nothing suspicious and the youth was suffering from mental depression due to family issues that might have led to his taking the extreme step, said police.
