Dhiraj Kumar Trivedi Appointed ASG For Cal HC

Kolkata: Senior advocate Dhiraj Kumar Trivedi was appointed as additional solicitor general (ASG) for high court on Tuesday. His appointment would be effective for three years from June 9. Trivedi was previously the deputy solicitor general in Calcutta high court. He appeared for Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and in recent cases represented the Railways too. Trivedi’s appointment is amidst a series of changes made in the state panel following Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) electoral win in West Bengal on May 4. He will succeed ASG Asok Kumar Chakrabarti, who has been in the ASG since 2022.
