Former high court judge visits RG Kar Hospital, demands probe against CBI IO

Kolkata: Tamluk MP Abhijit Gangopadhyay, on Saturday afternoon, went to visit the emergency building at RG Kar Hospital where the victim of rape and murder was found on Aug 9, 2024. Ganguly raised questions about "not examining" every evidence and demanded that the role of CBI's investigating officer Seema Pahuja should also be probed."The room I am standing in front of is crucial in this case. It is still locked. The room provides access to where the victim's body was found. These aspects were not investigated," Gangopadhyay said."I went there because the CBI officer in charge, Seema Pahuja, did not carry out two important tasks. If CBI officials had entered the room, they might have uncovered many things and advanced the investigation. I urge the CBI to thoroughly examine everything inside this room."He also claimed that a nurse recorded a video on her mobile phone of a body being carried down the stairs. "Pahuja took that video and instructed the nurse to delete the same from her mobile handset," he said."I am not blaming the entire CBI. I see fault with that specific officer. She should be included as an accused and interrogated," Gangopadhyay said, claiming that the investigating officer might have been influenced.
