Kolkata: State health officials said six flyers who arrived in Kolkata from either Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) or Uganda in recent weeks are under home surveillance by health officials. While none of them have any symptoms this surveillance was part of an SOP to be followed after the
Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo. They will be under home surveillance for three weeks.
Health officials also said that while it was unlikely for the state to get any positive or suspect case, 12 isolation cabins at the ID Hospital in Beleghata, the state’s apex institute for infectious diseases, will be kept ready as a precautionary measure.
