According to sources in the commission there will be seven centres – one each for all the municipalities and it has been decided that all EVMs of one ward will be counted at the same table.

KOLKATA: Counting for the seven municipalities that went to or the polls on May 14 will be held on Wednesday.
Though the state election commission is not ready to share any information but sources in the commission said that the strong room will be opened at 7.30 am in the morning and the counting will start 8 am and is likely to be over by 10.30 am.

“We will have 1 to 2 wards per table and there will be 16 tables. The counting centres for Mirik and Kurseong will be the SDO office, for Darjeeling counting will be conducted at St Roberts High School and for Kalimpong it will be Kalimpong College,” sources in the administration said.
The counting of Pujali, Raigunj and Domkal will be held at Bela Seshe Old Age Home, Coronation School and Domkal Girls School. Meanwhile the state election commission ordered repolling in six booths - three in Pujali and one each in Domkal and Raigunj on Wednesday following widespread violence. Otherwise, polling was peaceful.
