Kozhikode: Leaders of various Muslim organizations condemned the US-Israel attack on Iran, saying that it has sown instability in the Middle East at the iftar gathering convened by IUML state chief Panakkad Sadikali Shihab Thangal."The killing of Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei amounts to war crime. International agencies, including the UN, must step in and ensure peace in the region. Gulf countries are experiencing the repercussions of the conflict and Iran must stop its attacks on Gulf nations," they said in a resolution adopted at the meet.Nearly a crore Indians live in these countries and a significant number of them are Malayalis. If the war continues, it will have serious consequences, they said. The leaders also urged India's diplomatic intervention to ensure peace in the region and expressed concern over the departure from India's traditional policy of non-alignment.Thangal presided over the meeting, while IUML national general secretary PK Kunhalikutty delivered the introductory address. Leaders who attended the iftar included Kozhikode qazi Panakkad Syed Nasir Hayy Shihab Thangal, R V Kutty Hassan Darimi, K Moyinkutty, Ahmed Saleem Edakkara, Hussain Madavoor and C P Ummer Sullami.
