The other vehicle registered as UP32 AN 0962 was plying for LESA (Mahanagar) and had its fitness lapsed in 2004. Another vehicle plying under the registration no. UP32 AN 5694 was also caught for flouting mandatory norms.
Total 12 such vehicles were caught by the RTO on the day, which had not paid their tax arrears or were plying without fitness certificates. "We wish if government officials can go for a monitoring of vehicles hired by their departments," said Sanjay Nath Jha, ARTO (enforcement). This will save officials from the inconvenience when their vehicle is stopped on the road and they are told to either wait or take another vehicle to office, as their hired vehicle might not be meeting the norms.
RTO has already identified such departments where hired vehicles are used like BSNL, nagar nigam, several departments in annexe, Jal Sansthan and LESA. The timely monitoring will be doubly fruitful, it will ensure that norms are followed and save officials from the inconvenience.
