Cabinet nod to land transfer for Agra Metro corridor II
Lucknow: The UP govt has approved the transfer of land for the construction of Metro stations and a viaduct section under Agra Metro rail project’s corridor II, stretching from Agra Cantt to Kalindi Vihar.
After the state cabinet meeting, the Agra district administration had proposed the transfer of 550 sqmt of vacant nazul land located in village Chak Atwal, tehsil Sadar. The land is currently being used as a parking area within the regional employment office.
The proposal was forwarded through letters issued by the Agra district magistrate on Nov 18, 2025 and Feb 24, 2025. UP Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) had requested that the land be allotted and transferred free of cost for the development of Metro infrastructure along corridor II.
The cabinet approved the transfer of the land to UPMRC at the prevailing circle rate, while granting full exemption from payment under specified terms and conditions. The land will be used for the construction of Metro stations and the viaduct section of the corridor connecting Agra Cantt with Kalindi Vihar.
“The transfer has been treated as an exceptional case and will not be considered a precedent for future land transfers or allotments,” said an official source.
