LED, laser avatar: City’s oldest Ramlila to use animations, graphic for special effects
Lucknow: In a new twist to the Aishbagh Ramlila, the city's oldest Ramlila, that began on Thursday, the 'Bharat Milap' sequence will be performed on stage this year, deviating from the traditional street act. President of the Aishbagh Ramlila Samiti, Harish Chandra Agarwal, shared this information, adding that LED screens would be set up for the Ramlila telecast. He said that laser technology would be used for animations and graphics. Also, a troupe of artists from Kolkata had arrived to stage the Ramlila. At Mausamganj Ramlila, a new stage is being built up to stage ‘Ram van gaman', ‘Sitaharan', ‘Jatayu Balidan' and ‘Lanka Dahan' sequences. Besides, a new sequence of ‘Kevat Leela' is being added this year. The organisers of the Ramlila have increased the seating capacity to 1,000 and installed new fans and coolers for visitors as well. At Raniganj Ramlila, on Oct 8, Ram baraat will begin from Shiv temple from 4pm onwards. "The 'Raavan vadh', to be presented in a grand avataar will be staged on Oct 14 at 7:30pm," said general secretary of the Ramlila committee Prabhakant Mishra. Meanwhile, a selfie corner has been set up by Railway Ramlila Dussehra Committee, where visitors can click selfies with actors.
