IPS Aparna Kumar sets out to scale highest mountain in Alaska

Aparna Kumar, the IPS officer known for her mountaineering skills, is geared up to take on Denali, the highest mountain peak in North America. Once she does so, the 2002 batch officer of UP cadre will become the first Indian bureaucrat to climb summits in all the seven continents.

LUCKNOW: Aparna Kumar, the IPS officer known for her mountaineering skills, is geared up to take on Denali, the highest mountain peak in North America. Once she does so, the 2002 batch officer of UP cadre will become the first Indian bureaucrat to climb summits in all the seven continents.
UP chief minister Aditya Nath Yogi wished her luck and a safe return on Wednesday and also presented the Indian flag to her.

Director general of police and principal secretary, home, were also present when Aparna met Yogi. This native of Karnataka is scheduled to hoist the flag on the summit in a few weeks. Denali peak is situated over 20,000 feet above the sea level. Currently posted as DIG, PAC, Aparna had climbed the highest peaks in six continents.
